Hello, I’m Maggie. Short for Malgorzata.
If you're a mental health practitioner feeling like AI is everywhere and somehow still nowhere in your training, welcome. You're in the right place.
My background
I’m a psychologist with postgraduate qualifications in crisis intervention and learning design, and I've spent most of my career in tech. Since 2024, I've worked at the Scottish AI Alliance, championing a responsible approach to AI adoption, grounded in the three pillars of Scotland's national AI strategy: trustworthiness, ethics and inclusion. As part of that work, I co-created AI literacy programmes for citizens across Scotland, focusing on the impact of AI on industries, communities and individuals.
My mission
Through that work I came to understand that as AI enters our professional and personal lives, AI literacy needs to go beyond computer science. AI is a societal revolution and the people we rely on to help us make sense of the world - therapists, doctors, teachers, parents - are being left underprepared for it. Mental health practitioners in particular are on the frontlines of its psychological impact and that's what Mind Meets AI was created to address.
What I believe
Even if the most dramatic predictions about AI never materialise, this technology is already shaping how people think, feel and relate to each other. You may already be seeing that in yourself and/or your clients. My hope is that you leave here feeling more informed, more confident, and better equipped to help them.
Thank you for being here.
PS. When I’m not thinking, reading, writing or talking about AI, you may find me exploring the wonders of Scottish Highlands with my dog. If you see us, come say hi!
